“I Was You” Campaign

A Marabhale Social Initiative

I WasYou

Real stories for kids and teens who feel alone — created to turn pain into connection, strength, and hope.

Because your current chapter is not your whole story. And sometimes, hearing “I was you” is the first step toward believing that things can change.

I was you.
And you will become more than this.
Every story begins somewhere

A space where pain becomes strength.

Bullying, exclusion, fear, loneliness — many young people carry these experiences in silence.

“I Was You” was created to give those stories a voice. It is a space where people who have lived through difficult moments can share their journey — not just to be heard, but to help someone else feel less alone.

Storytelling Support Hope Youth voices
Why it exists

Because someone, somewhere, needs to hear: you are not alone.

Stories can become bridges. They can help a young person recognise their own feelings, imagine a future beyond the pain, and find the courage to speak, ask for help, or simply keep going.

Give voice to real experiences

We collect and shape personal stories with care, empathy, and respect, so lived experiences can become meaningful messages of support.

Create connection through storytelling

We use stories to build emotional bridges between people who have struggled and young audiences who may be struggling now.

Inspire resilience and self-discovery

The campaign reminds young people that identity is not defined by one painful chapter, one label, or one difficult moment.

Support younger generations

By sharing honest journeys, we help children and teens feel seen, understood, and encouraged to seek support when they need it.

How it works

Share. Transform. Inspire.

The movement follows a simple story-led process: people share what they lived, Marabhale shapes it into a supportive narrative, and the message reaches someone who may need it.

1

Share

People share their personal stories openly or anonymously — from bullying and exclusion to fear, loneliness, identity struggles, or the moment they began to heal.

2

Transform

Each story is treated with care and shaped into a meaningful narrative that highlights growth, strength, and the message another young person may need to hear.

3

Inspire

The stories are shared through posts, visuals, campaign content, and future creative formats to help others recognise themselves and feel less alone.

Stories that matter

Real voices. Real journeys. Real transformation.

This section can later become a home for featured posts, carousel previews, quotes, and real campaign stories.

The impact we want to create

“I’m not alone.”

“I Was You” is not just about storytelling. It is about helping someone pause, reflect, and realise that vulnerability can become strength — and that stories can create change, one person at a time.

I was you. And you will become more than this.
Join the movement

For people who believe stories can save someone’s tomorrow.

We collaborate with individuals, creators, educators, experts, organisations, and communities who believe in the power of storytelling and positive change. You can contribute a story, support the initiative, collaborate on content, or help us reach young people who need to hear this message.

Share your story

Your story could change someone’s life.

If you have lived through something difficult — and found your way forward — your story matters.

You may never know who needs to hear it. But someone does.

Important: Stories can be shared openly or anonymously. If the story involves a young person, sensitive details should be handled carefully and with consent.
